All of the evacuations were lifted yesterday at 5 pm. We received an e-mail from our Ward telling us that we only had sacrament meeting today. We decided to take a "lazy Sunday" today and head back up to the canyons. When we went hiking we had to pay for a 3 day pass. Today was the 3rd day, so we wanted to get our use out of it. We packed a lunch and headed up to the reservoir that is up AF canyon.
Shade was limited up there, so we were lucky to find this pine tree. Lily was more interested in spilling her drink and getting muddy than eating.
The water was so blue up there! I was really surprised. There were a lot of people up here fishing.
Jennifer got mad everytime the wind would blow. Sounds like one of her pet peeves is forming...wind.
We saw a lot of butterflies. The kids loved chasing them around.
Right where the water was pouring into the reservoir was some river rocks. I only let the kids play here so they wouldn't bother the people fishing. As soon as they started playing, it became the popular spot and we had a handful of other kids joining them. The water was really cold, so it took awhile before they were brave enough to wade around.
Lily was perfectly content just throwing rocks into the water.
Zac kept on tickling my arm trying to get me to look at the camera.
Jennifer finally got brave enough to climb onto some of the rocks.
She refused to open her eyes when the camera was on her. She had fun playing.
It was the perfect weather while we were up there. Lily fell asleep on the drive home, and is still sleeping 2 hours later. Great way to spend some time together. The kids had a great time.
