So Zac's Dad gave Eric Marble Mania for Christmas. On the box it stated "over 450 parts". Hmmmm..not good for a new baby. We just made Eric get rid of all his small toys that Jennifer could possibly put in her mouth and choke. We tried to take it back to Costco, however, the one here in Lehi does not carry this game. Then I got looking on the box some more, and it stated that it takes 4-6 hours to put together. So it's not a toy like Magnetix or something that parts are everyone in the house. So I made a deal with Eric that he can have it (he was REALLY mad when we said that we had to take it back) as long as he keeps it in his window sill. If I see ONE marble then the toy is gone. So I was proud of myself for putting it together in 3 hours. However, after I was done, one of the gears wasn't working properly. I had Zac take a look at it, and he fixed it after about 2 minutes. Eric was so excited when it was done. I was telling him how happy that I was able to put it together. He said, "Yeah, but you had to look at the book the WHOLE time. It took forever. But Dad, he is a GENIUS!" Great.Sunday, December 28, 2008

Merry Christmas!

Thank goodness Christmas is almost over! The kids were really fun this year. When Eric opened up one of his presents he said, "Wow! I didn't even ASK Santa for this! How did he know?" Aubrey was thrilled that Santa ate some of the cookies. Their big presents were new bikes and a "new" tent. (It used to be Zac's and his brother Matt's tent. Sorry Matt if you didn't know we had it. haha) We, meaning Zac and I, agreed again to not give each other presents this year....Zac yet again made me feel horrible for not getting him anything. He made me this board. I've been wanting one for awhile now. He even made the frame! He was able to get some knotty alder to match our cabinets. My best friend has a vinyl machine so she made all the words and numbers for him. I'm way excited about it...but again feel like a loser for not getting him anything.

We went to Zac's Aunt's house again for Christmas Eve. The kids were so excited when Santa came. Eric asked for a Rocket Sled. hmmmm good luck. Aubrey asked for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We have no idea what toy that is. We even had her walk around the stores to show us what it was. She couldn't find it.
I forgot to put down Jennifer's stats for her 4 month check-up we had 2 weeks ago. She is in the 97% for her height and weight, but only 50% for her head. Whew! Eric was always in the 100% for his head. She weighed in at a whopping 17 pounds. I can't remember how long she was....I have it written down at the house. She is such a good baby.Monday, December 08, 2008
Temple Square
We took the kids to Temple Square on Thursday. Since I have the girls up in SLC with me already, I had Zac and Eric meet me at my work. The kids were so excited. Not for the lights...but for the train ride on TRAX. My work is across the street from the Gallivan Center, so we only had 2 stops until Temple Square, but they loved it. We were only at Temple Square for about 20-30 minutes before we started heading back. The reason you ask? Aubrey's persistent, "I want to ride the train!" finally got to us. The second we got on the train Aubrey turns to me and says, "When are we going to the temple?" ARG! She was cute though when we saw the Christus and the misc picture of Jesus in the Visitor's Center. She kept on telling people that "That's Jesus! He's my brother!" Then Eric would get mad because HE is Aubrey's brother.
So Aubrey has been saying the funniest things lately. When we were going to daycare this week Aubrey says to me, "Mom, Superman flies huh." I said, "Yep he does." Then she said, "But batman, he FALLS with STYLE!" Then she starts giggling. Another time she just started laughing. I asked her what was so funny. She says "My tummy wants to eat that cloud! It goes, mmm boy that cloud sure looks good. But we aren't suppose to eat clouds. My tummy is so silly!" She has some imagination.
So on Friday Eric decided to cut his own hair. Aubrey came running upstairs and told Zac. Sure enough, Eric had cut the center part of his hair, and to the scalp on his side. Zac asked Eric why he cut his hair. Eric said he wanted to look cool. So Zac had him look in the mirror. Eric gasped and said, "I look stupid!" Zac told him yep, and you are going to school like that. Eric was not happy. Zac ended up buzzing his hair. At least it was Eric's hair not Aubrey's.
So most of you know by now, but my Dad and Diane are getting married. They haven't set a date yet, but it will be before March. I'm guessing their wedding will be in February, but don't quote me on that. It was quite the shock to us, but we are getting used to the idea. They made it "official" on Wednesday.
Depending on the weather, Dad and I will be coming up to Idaho this Saturday. If it's going to be snowing the whole drive though, we may end up staying. That is a long drive during storms. Our ward Christmas Party is this Friday, and since Zac and I are committee chairs we are going to be pretty busy all Friday setting up and getting everything ready for the party, and then busy during, and busy cleaning up after. Otherwise we would be leaving for Idaho on Friday night.
So Zac has been busy selling things on KSL and ebay. This is what happens when the kids get into the packing peanuts...
